CultureLabel

SO, it has certainly been a long time. However, i have been involved with a business called CultureLabel.com which is taken over my life in the most positive of ways.

Currently the products manager,  i work by sourcing new products and brands on the site. Check out the website, and the products i come across daily that certainly inspire me.

Lubna Chowdhary

I have long been a fan of Lubna Chowdhary's ceramic work. Her work is a beautiful mix of colour and shape, some simple and others very intricate. I am looking forward to her sample sale coming up and to see her studio where she creates these delicious pieces.

Ernesto Neto - Hayward Gallery

When i was in Copenhagen,  Steph, Alex and i went over to Malmo, Sweden and saw Ernesto Neto's amazing work. It was like the adult equivalent of a children's interactive centre. Everything was white, tactile, burrowed fabric holes appeared from nowhere, endless mazes, dead ends, fabric walls above, below and sideways.

Anyhow, the Brazilians does a number of shows but this one is at the Hayward Gallery as part of a festival of Brazil.

I managed to get a sneak preview and it does not disappoint. This time, he layered different coloured mesh-like walls to add depth, has ceiling pockets of pebbles, globe lights and even a outdoor pool designed the 'Neto' way.

This is a MUST to look at.

Maze By Stuart Pearson Wright

Well, Sadly i am not much of a Keira fan, but i have to say that this short film does have an increasing intensity as the couple played by Keira Knightley and artist, Stuart Pearson Wright try to find each other and become desperate. Beautifully shot with incredible light and colours. I found this on Nowness.

Pick Me Up- Andy Gilmore

I went to the graphics art fair - Pick Me Up at Sommerset House. I came across Andy Gilmore's excellent work. Even though these images look quite computer generated, when printed onto paper they hold incredible depth and vivid colour.

Quilts

I have been doing some research on quilt recently and came across a fantastic book called Contemporary Quilts, compiled by Barbara Hallas. These are my particular favourites.
